Benjamin's Story
Life
Lets see, after high school:
I attended Michigan State University for five years and got my B.S. in Psychology in 1987.
My first job out of college was as a probation counselor for Calhoun County. After a year, I was "down sized" out of my job. I then went to work for a mental health agency (Residential Opportunities, Inc.)in Kalamazoo, MI. I have been there the past 18 years. My current job at ROI is two fold: Housing Management for the mentally ill/mentally retarded in Kalamazoo County and also I also teach behavioral intervention for our agency staff.
I was married briefly (1998 - 2002).
School
School, especially High School was one of the best times of my life. I had a lot of very good friends and we had a ball. I have remained in contact with many of them and they remain ...Expand for more
to this day some of my best friends.
College
College, like High School was a lot of fun. I didn't take college as seriously as I should, but most people I know say the same thing. Going to Michigan State was an incredible experience and to this day I love to go there and just walk around campus. It brings back a lot of wonderful memories.
Workplace
My career. Gee, what can I say....I always envied people back in high school who knew what they wanted to do with their life. Many of my closest friends had their life planned out and a few actually followed it. As for me, I never had a career that I wanted to follow, at least not one in this reality. I wanted to don a suit of armor and slay dragons or command a star ship. Since those careers were already taken, I had to settle with Psychology.
