Bennie's Story
when I graduated from high school I had been discouraged by the school counselor from ever attending college., more on this later. I was pretty wild in those days & I would blow off steam by heavy drinking & partying. during this time my dad suffered a horrible car accident an 18 wheeler hit him. he was left in a coma .. the doctors said he wouldn't live.In that iemergency room I got down on my knees and I prayed to God to let my dad live. my life was taking me nowhere. I wound up in jail. when I got out I turned to a higher power I realized I could not make it on my own. I was converted and gave my life completely to the Lord. he let me see with new eyes. He gave me hope. My dad came out of the coma after 3 months. he was a hemiplegic. he lived praising the Lord for 12 more years! I started singing, recording & writing songs I became an ordained minister.I also married & became a licensed insurance agent for about 15 years.we had two beautiful children. long story short I went through a divorce. I moved to Colorado. I lived there for the next 17 years I decided i wanted to try a new field. I decided to go back to college even if I had been told not to attend college. e did. I passed the state board exam and graduated from Cambridge College as an X-ray technician/ medical assistant in Colorado. I was working at a clinic when I met a co-worker from the Philippines who was married. she said she wanted me to meet her sister. her sister & I started communicating for the next 4 years. during this time I was also a worship leader for a 200 member church.I continued singing & recording. I finally traveled 10,000 miles to the Philippines. I visited the country for 21 days immersing myself in their culture. I met my future Christian wife Nenita. during this time I was offered a position as area director of my company which has a network of 17,000 attorneys nationwide. It is a legal membership company. I brought my wife back to the U.S. We had a nice wedding in Colorado.My company settled me in Amarillo,Tx. because they needed me here. It also worked out good because I wanted to come back to Texas! i've come full circle. I will continue singing & recording as long as God permits.
