Stacia's Story
I moved back to Missouri in 1982. I received my Bachelor's degree, then went to Dublin, Ireland, and earned my M.A. I also got married. I went to the University of Nebraska for my PhD. I am now an Associate Professor of English at Missouri Western State University. I also had three kids in there somewhere.
I really have the travel bug. I've been all over Europe, Cuba, and Japan. I'm always packed and ready to go somewhere. I'm currently learning Japanese, and that's proving to be quite a challenge. Too bad it wasn't offe...Expand for more
red when we were in high school, but then I wouldn't have taken it because I didn't know its value.
When I'm not teaching or at conferences I'm mothering Brendan (19), Aislinn (16) and Maeve (14). Between college and school events and volunteer work and maintaining a Victorian (ca. 1901) home, I stay pretty busy. My husband was an English Professor as well (he retired two years ago) so our poor kids don't stand a chance. No wonder they all want to go into the sciences.
