Bernadette's Story
I moved to LA in 1966 with Sue Werda and lived with my brother Jerry for awhile. Werda went back to Michigan after awhile and I stayed, met someone got married and moved to Shell Beach. We opened up our Pizzeria in March of 1973 and at the same time I became pregnant with my first son, Ryan. I ran the restaurant and we opened another restaurant and in September of 1975 I became pregnant with my second son, Darren. That was the end of my pregnancies and from then on it was just opening more restaurants ( at one time we had 5 going at one time) and working my tail off and taking care of my boys. I got quite involved in our local chamber of commerce and served as president for 2 terms. My husband and I split up in 1992 and I have been on my own ever since. My boys are now 34 and 31 and I've been blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren. Today I still operate my restaurant with the help of my 2 sons and we're doing quite well.

d Sue Werda and I are still best friends. Carol Macks & I still stay in touch too for the most part. Some things never change.
I love listening to music and going to concerts. My two sons are very talented in the areas of music and lyrics. One is the music worship leader at his church and the other is working on a screenplay and just finished writing a book. He also has a passion for the wine industry and we have made homemade wine at my house from start to finish. That was so much fun ! My sons are my Pride and Joy! Some of my other hobbies include gardening, decorating, spending time with my Sons and Grandbabies, cooking, shopping, wine tasting, and going out to nice restaurants for quality food and good conversation! I own a house at the beach and I love having my own restaurant. It's alot of hard work but can be very rewarding.I have been very blessed! I can't believe that it's been 43 years since High School graduation! In some ways it seems just like yesterday!
I'm still looking for my special someone to complete my life and I hope that there's still hope for that at 61!
