Bernita's Story
My time in Jersey City was very short. Only about 5 years of my life. I lived on the corner of Bergen Ave. and Grant, two doors down from Snyder (I could see my back yard from my homeroom) from 1961 through 1966 after moving there from Philly.
Following graduation I attended Temple University;transferred to North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, NC
and then married Brock Coleman from Westfield, NJ in 1968. We lived in Raleigh NC with our eldest daughter C...Expand for more
rystal for 3 years before relocating to Southern California in 1971. Our second daughter, Felicia, was born the next year.
My best friend, Muriel Watts, also a '65 Snyder grad, and I kept in touch for many of the years following until she passed.
Fast-forward to now...I recently retired after over twenty years in the vocational training field. I now reside outside of Atlanta GA - where I am close to my children and grandchild (she's 19!!!).
