Bertha's Story
For 25 years I was employed at CSBank in SWCity, Mo. In 2006 I took early retirement to be with my husband who was at that time very ill.At this time I am sole caregiver for my husband who is blind and crippled. I read to him and we listen to a lot of TV, Movies and Bible tapes. Our life is full and good. God has been good to us. We own our home which we remodeled a year ago for handicap access, making it possible for him to continue to live with me instead of a nursing home. I try to have a garden every summer to keep me busy outside of the home. We have home health care to assist me in caring for him properly.

will be 12 in January.Our children live in Vinita, Pittsburg, KS and Phoenix. They keep in touch with us by phone and holiday visits.
We are very happy and content. I am still healthy despite having had one of my kidneys removed and both knees replaced.
This year I lost 40 pounds by counting carbs. I may not be the biggest loser, but I am going to start again after the new year trying to lose 40 more. That will give me only 50 more for the year 2010, to reach my goal.
