Bertie's Story

I am still living in Chowchilla, I raised 3 daughters and they have given me 13 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. I am Married to Michael Red and we will celebrate 22 years in Nov.We built a new house at Greenhills Golfcourse 7 years ago. I am retired and Mike is still with Madera county. I am still very blonde, in good health and extremely happy. How about you? I would like to hear from all of you since we have had only 2 reunions and that was many years ago.I would like to hear from Louise Williams as I remember her as one of my best friend. I always wanted to be a Mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. I like to swim in the family pool when I was growing up, I also loved to practice my majorette routines, I loved to sew new clothes for myself, I enjoyed playing on the tennis team at CHUS. My Father was my hero, He was very protective of his children. We all were very sad when He had stomach cancer and died at 59 years old. My Mother was my hero also, she was always home when we got home from school. Mother taught me to sew at a very young age, dad bought me a sewing machine for my 8th grade graduation. Dad taught us life to respect and care for others who needed help. We were all baptized as a family on the same day. We are all Christians to this day! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Louise Williams, because She and I were still friends after we married. Louise and I had all Daughters and they were friends as adults too.. If I could improve my home on Ventura Av., I'd remodel (did that ) and add on a garden room,(did that). However My New dream home...Expand for more
would be in greenhills golfcourse,in Chow.and we did that!, I have stayed here all my life. I love Chowchilla and the many friends along the way. My best friend is my Husband, Mike Red. We built a new home and made it just the way we wanted it . Love it and plan to live out our lives here in Chowchilla.. What I have learned from raising my Daughters is , patience, unconditioal love, what's important in life, Family. Now Grandchildren & Great Grand Children. I have lived my life working with all the children that have come my way in Chowchilla. I have taught Children's Church and worked with the schools as a volunteer in many ways. I am signed up to help in Cornerstone Church Pre-School this year as A volunteer. I have learned that children love me as much as I love them. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to God, then spend the rest on A home for each Grandchild, A college fund for the Great Grandchildren and We don't need anything for us. We are good.. My current age is 68. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong. My oldest friend was Claudene Boyajian. We met at the Chiropractic office. I was the secretary, she was a patient. She begged me into taking Karate private lesson's in her home. I said o.k. to please her She was 72 and I was 50. We had so much fun learning together that I became the daughter she never had. When her husband died, Claudene's son moved her into a senior living home. I visited her a lot there. Claudene fell and her son moved her to his town far away where she passed away. We talked about the Bible and God, that made her happy. She is in a better place now, I miss her very much.
