Beth's Story

Life Well, where to begin? I guess the logical place would be after high school :o) I headed off to TC3 and received an AAS degree as a paralegal. I was glad when that was over. Too many tests! Anyways, during that time I met my husband Blaine Harvey. For those who don't know he was an Army recruiter in the Ithaca area and we met because I had considered joining at one time. He did recruit my brother Jacob who is now on his second year tour in Iraq. Some of you will remember him. He is doing well. Anyways, Blaine was sent to Korea after he finished recruiting and asked me to marry him via the phone while he was over there. He mailed me my engagement ring! Anyways, he came home for a few weeks in September of 1999 and we were married then and I went back with him to Korea for the rest of his time (about 6 months). Very awesome experience! After Korea we lived in Fayetteville, NC (Fort Bragg is there) for three years. Blaine has been back and forth several times to the middle east and other parts of the world and it was hard to get used to having to stay behind at first but I am getting better finally after just over 6 years of marriage. Being married has been one of the greatest things in my life. I absolutely LOVE IT! He is the best husband and takes very good care of me! Still no kids but we are working on it :o) We had a three year plan so we are a little ...Expand for more
past that but finally feel like we are ready now if and when it happens. After, NC we moved to Tampa, FL and that is where we are right now. We still own a house in NC but decided to just rent down here and found a really nice place a few minutes from the base with a pool and fenced backyard for our dogs. Blaine works at MacDill AFB at Central Command. We are planning on being out of here before the summer is out. Time to move on to the next station. We are hoping for Italy or at least someplace in Europe. We are very involved with our church here and have just had fun enjoying the beaches, Busch Gardens and everything else Tampa has to offer. This really is a great place to live-just a little bit to hot in the summer and a lot of bugs! As far as my jobs, I didn't work while we were in Korea and then in NC I worked admin at a real estate office for the 3 years and I did customer serivce at a pathology lab when I first moved down here to Tampa. I had a hard time getting a job at first and ended up going through a temp agency. Anyways, it ended up being very corporate and I left there and now work as the office manager for a mortgage broker company. Love it! Everyone is soooo nice and the hours are perfect! That is pretty much it, in a nutshell. I would have to say that my life is really great and I have no complaints. The Lord has truly blessed me with so much!
