Beth's Story
Life
I'm a free lance graphic designer, kind of retired, in Arlington, TX where I live with my husband of 46 years, Ken Simon (St. Mary's class of 1966, St. Louis U. 1970, M.U. 1972). I went to KU and majored in Graphic Design. We've also lived in Columbia, Kansas City, Houston, and Columbus, OH. Ken retired as an elementary principal at a charter school and is busy volunteering in the community. I am still active in Color Marketing Group, the premier international association for color design professionals. My professional nickname is MacBeth, since I've been using a Macintosh since 1990. I teach water aerobics at my neighborhood pool in the summer and am an elder at First Christian Church.

in Houston and writes childrens books (MU 1997), and our son, Kerry, his wife and daughter live in Salt Lake City where he is digital creative director. Ken's Aunt Mary Ann Simon is the secretary of the Carondelet Historical Society and we try to make at least one visit each year back to St. Louis. Ken's sister's family lives in Affton.
I designed children's clothes and embroidery for Danny & Debby Dare and The Grace Company in Kansas City in the 70's. Nieman Marcus and Lord & Taylor had us design their private lines. I also had my own business, O Baby! Originals, for 4 years, designing and selling wholesome Texas-themed baby clothes. I still enjoy fashion and love color; all colors, except I can't get too excited about beige or grey..Life's too short not to have fun, so do it with color!
