Beth's Story
After college, I got married to the wrong person and started teaching at Austin High. Eight years later, in 1991, I decided that just because you were raised Catholic, doesn't mean you have to be unhappy, so I left my mean and grumpy husband. My mom had died and I started my life over, but kept my teaching job at Austin. In 1994, I got remarried to the right guy and a year later had a wonderful little girl named Becky. She had blue eyes and curly red hair. Flash forward to 2010, Becky is 14 and very smart. Husband is an English teacher at Galena Park High School. I love classic rock music and computers. I still teach Accounting in Room A318 at 1700 Dumble! I hope old friends remember me as a sweet, but fairly intelligent nice girl who was in the Scottish Brigade and would always be willing to help you as long as my grades were the best they could be.I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My parents were behomd me all the ...Expand for more
way because Dad had been a principal in HISD for 30+ years. As it turns out, they were right, as long as I watch my Diabetes, things will be okay. To blow off steam and relax, I get in my car and put on classic rock very loud....I also love to shop! I never did anything wild in high school because I was a 100% nerd! I currently live in Pearland in a nice two-story four bedroom house. I moved away from Sharpstown because it was too violent and scarey. The biggest surprise in my life is that my daughter is just as smart as I was in junior hig. She plays tennis and knows karate and she is still a Girl Scout! After I retire from HISD I want to travel to see the national parks and I want to go to Spain and Switzerland. I don't want my daughter to be teacher, but it is up to her what she wants to do. I always wear comfy shoes...If I could have a do-over, I never would have married my first husband. He was not cool! What was I thinking?
