Beth's Story

Life Things haven't turned out as I had planned leaving high school. I graduated from UDelaware with a BS in Wildlife Conservation. I traveled around the country for about 2 years working on different wildife projects. Came home to go to grad school but after 9/11 there was no funding so I got a job a Barnes & Noble until I could get a real Biology job. There I met my husband. I had just given my notice that I had found a job at a pharmaceutical company when Christian started working there. We started dating and he moved in with me two years later. We discussed marriage and knew we wanted to get married but were in no rush. Unfortunately on June 18, 2004 my father...Expand for more
was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given less than six months to live. We decided immediately not to wait and were married by August. In the mean time I got a job working for the Department of Environmental Protection - which is a definite step up and where I am currently working. My father responded well to the chemo and was had some really good months with him, but he passed away on Nov. 20, 2004. Now I'm just trying to adjust to being a wife and not tending to a sick father and the pain of his loss. I live day to day and I have a good job and an absolutely amazing husband and two adorable cats. So I guess that's my life in a nut shell for the past 8-9 years.
