Life
My Education
I moved to Johnstown in 1962 and attended Goucher Street ES (at least I think that's its name) for 6th grade. I went to Westmont Hilltop Jr HS for 7th-9th grades and to Westmont Hilltop HS for tenth grade. My family moved to Sharon and I attended 11th and 12th grades at Hickory HS, graduating in 1969. I went to Clarion State University and graduated in Dec. 1972 with a BS in Secondary Ed (Spanish.) I taught Spanish at Cadiz HS from 1973-1977. In 1977, I returned to Valencia to study (the first time was in 1971 through CSU) and met my husband...
My Spouse
I met my husband on a beach in Spain. He was a teacher from California and I was teaching in Ohio at the time. It was love at first sight and we have been married for almost 24 years.
My Kids
Our daughter graduated from London Central High School in England and will graduate this June from the University of California, San Diego. She attended the John F. Kennedy School (currently Internation School) in Berlin, Germany, from Kindergarten to 9th grade before we transfered to England. She is fluent i...Expand for more
n German and an excellent student. She has a double major in Communications and Political Science with an emphasis on European political systems.
My Job
I am the Guidance Counselor at London Central High School in High Wycombe, England. LCHS is a DoDDS school and our primary population consists of American students who are the children of members of the US Navy or US Air Force stationed in England and Italy. My job is the same as any HS Guidance Counselor in the US, although getting them into colleges and universities in the US is a bit trickier. I love my job.
Latest development, 2004.
My husband retired and we have returned to the US and live in Minden, NV now...just outside of Carson City. I am teaching at Douglas High School and am the tennis coach for the Girls Tennis team. It is great. This is a beautiful area. We're 20 miles from south shore, Lake Tahoe.
Our daughter works on the Warner Bros lot in LA as the assistant to one of the producers for The Gilmore Girls. She is enjoying working on the lot & the show. It is right up her alley.
