Betsy's Story
Betsy currently lives in Salem, OR (as of this July first!). She went to Duke after Haverford High, then to U of Kent at Canterbury for graduate work in English. She started teaching in 1973 and stopped this July (high time after 43 years)--her longest stints of teaching were at Western Oregon University, Monmouth, OR (11 years) and University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (17 years, from whi...Expand for more
ch she just retired along with her husband, Garry Watson, who taught there for 46 years). She has two daughters from her first marriage, Hannah Wallace and Molly Wallace, both of whom live in Portland, OR. She has a stepdaughter, Sophie Watson (living in England), and a stepson, Martin Watson (living in Calgary, Alberta). She and Garry have 4 grandchildren between them--2 in England and 2 in Portland.
