Betty's Story
Well, here we go...
Right after high school I got married and 1 year later had my Daughter. When she was 5 months old her fater was killed in a Navy air crash. It was off the coast of Dana Point in the ocean. His body was never recovered. It was a terrible time in my life.I feel, that event colored everything that occured from then on.
I now have 3 daughters and one son, they are 50, 48, 46 and 43. I have 7 grandchildren and and 7 great grandchildren. My oldest grandson is 27 and my youngest granddaughter is 4 years old. So I have grandchildren and greatgrandchildren that are the same age. So funny, hard to keep track of who is grandchild and who is great. Ha Ha
lI have lived in California, Hawaii, Washington St., Arizona and now North Dakota.
My employment has mostly been in the insurance industry as a Claims Adjuster. In my 50's I changed to being a massage terapist. Aft...Expand for more
er going through a spiritual awakening.
I had cancer in 1997 went to a fabulous orthopedic oncologist at USC University Hospital. He saved my foot and it has been 12 years, yea!
I do have a pacemaker now, I do move slower these days. I have a great heart doc in FARGO. Believe it or now, Fargo is the biggest city in North Dakota in spit of the movie impression. There are about 200,000 people. There are just over 1/2 a million people in the whole state. I live in Grand Forks there are about 60,00 in this town. The Red River of the north runs a the edge of town, on the other side of the river it is Minn. The interesting part is the Red River runs north into Canada. Not the normal south.
I have a pretty good time here, it is so easy going to events.A big event here might take 15 minutes to get out of rather then an hour.
Life is good, I don't even mind the rather difficult winters.
