Betty's Story
Well, here's an abbreviated version: I left Michigan when I was about 17. I hitchhicked (can you believe how when you are young, bold and stupid) my way down to Florida. I lived in Miami and worked in night clubs until I met my first husband a Miami-Dade cop in 1975. We married the same year and had a son named Jason (also in the same year). Jason will be 33 in August. My first husband and I divorced in 1982. (He passed away in 2002.) I moved to Fort Lauderdale and I married again in 1985 and divorced husband number 2 in 2003. s time I did go to college and earned a bachelor's degree in finance. My mom who lived in Redford Township died in 1990. My dad had moved from Michigan to Atlanta and died in 1994. My brother Patrick, died in 2000. I am now a Vice President of a small community bank located in Fort Lauderdale. (who would of thought!) I have nice home in Boca Raton, I live with my significant other, Dave (he's from Baltimore), my son Jonathan, my brother Bob. I have not been to Detroit since my brother passed away. I don't miss it. I love it here in Florida, it's beautiful place to live. So, catch me up, tell me your history and what you are doing now. I am looking forward to hearing your story.
