Betty's Story
"I REFUSE TO GROW UP" are words that I try to live by. I figure if I quit having fun, I might as well be dead, right?
ALL ABOUT THE FAMILY...Yep, I'd say my family is the most important thing in my life. I'm married to an awesome man who is my best friend and we have two incredible sons (Ryan and Ashton)..
SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER!!! When I think about Spring High School, the first images I see are:
1. Everyone hiding outside smoking between classes
2. Mr. Cook riding his motorcycle trying to catch us smoking
3. Marijuana incense in the trash cans. Amazing with "open concept" how the smell travels. Yes, I had a part in that prank.
4. Friday night football-GO LIONS!
5. Straw Hat Pizza!! In front of Ponderosa where we went after football games
6. Blue Light Road/Cemetery-great party spot!!
7. Gunny's Shack - isn't it funny that anyone could buy a beer back then regardless of your age?
8. Hafer Road - Lordy,...Expand for more
how did we survive those parties? Trashcan punch with everclear or anything we could get....UGGGHHHHHH.
9. The Goodyear Blimp!! Was that cool to see every day or what?
10. The "Special" summer school session I had to go to after my freshman year along with about 30 other "delinquents." I won't even mention "why" we were all there, but I remember the story did make the newspaper!
When I look back at all this, I realize how blessed I've been over and over again. I'm extremely grateful to God for everything I have and everything I've become. When I think about some of the completely insane things I've done, I realize God must want me here for something; otherwise, I would have killed myself about 50+ times. I hope that all my old friends out there are doing well and still rocking on... and I don't mean rocking in a rocking chair-lol.
As the song goes...."Life's been good to me so far." Cheers to you!!!
