Betty aka Elizabeth's Story
My life has been a wonderful adventure since high school graduation.
Looking back . . . senior year was a very difficult year. My Mother passed away suddenly June 1966. My plan for college changed and I went to work. In 1968 I married Richard Mabee from Middletown, NY. He was in the Air Force and returning from Vietnam. We eloped and several days later flew to Boise, Idaho as his next assignment was at Mountain Home Air Force Base.
In 1969 I gave birth to my daughter,
Michelle Rene. In 1970 Richard and I divorced. We were living across the country without family support and too young to know how to get help during the devasting post Vietnam era.
In 1972 life took an exciting change and I started my career in Human Resources at Boise Cascade World Headquarters in Boise, Idaho through a Job 70's Training Program. In 1976 I relocated to a suburb of Chicago, Evanston, IL. I have been in Human Resources for 37 years and have worked for some wonderful top and Fortune 500 companies, such as, American Hospital Supply Corporation, Gaylord Container, Rank Video a London based organization, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Rand McNally, and CSM a Dutch owned corporation.

onomy, I am conducting a nation-wide job search for a VP or Director Human Resources. I will be 60 this year and have no plans to retire. I am living proof that 60 is "the new 40." I enjoy what I do and want to keep learning and having new experiences.
I married again (thus the last name Mulligan) and after seven years
decided it was not where I should be,
so with respect we divorced in 2001.
My daughter and her family moved to Chicago four years ago from Seattle, WA. It has been wonderful having my daughter, 10 year old grand daughter, Lilly and her Dad, Chris a 30 minute drive away. Grand children are the best!!!
I love living in the Evanston/Chicago area. Lake Michigan and taking Lake Shore Drive to Michigan Avenue and downtown Chicago is beautiful. People are friendly and you can always find fun things to do. Evanston is the home of Northwestern University so there are always special events in the community.
My brother Waverly still lives near Greenwood Lake in Monroe, NY. The last time I went back to visit, I went to Monroe-Woodbury High School and was surprised to find out the population grew so much they had to expand and build a second huge building on the hill. It was nice to visit our High School.
