Betty's Story
Life
My life was pretty normal until 1995 when Meredith found out he had leukemia and then passed away on 4July1996. I had recently quit working for Bank of America after 18 years and got a school bus license and was going to sub for Chowchilla High. I have been a full time driver for CUHS since Spring of 1997 and you know, I really love what I do. I have an average route of 58 miles each morning and the students keep me young! ndsons. The girls are both cheerleaders at Golden Valley High in Merced and the boys are only 3 and 6 years old. My life is good, very lonesome at times, but I really have no complaints. Things could be a lot worse. I hope to retire from bus driving in about 3 years if all goes well. I would love to hear from any classmate or any friend that is willing to drop me a line. I have worked on all of our class reunions, but the first one and would love to hear of any suggestions or comments for our 50th which is not that far away. I extend a fond "Hello" to anyone who might read this. Betty Sutton Askew
I did retire from driving school bus for CUHS at the end of 2007. I have four handsome and beautiful grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I am busier than ever seems like and trying to get adjusted to this "Rusty" style of life that everyone said was the Golden Years. Betty
