Bev's Story
Life
I left Santa Rosa in a cloud of dust in 1974 and haven't looked back -very often anyway.
That year saw me enlist in the Air Force just for something to do. While in the Air Force I was a Jet Engine Mechanic (not fun), a tour guide at Liberty National Park (great fun), a Professional Military Education Instructor (really great fun), and a Historian (the best).
During that time I met and married a man from New York and had 2 daughters. He passed away after our second daughter was born.
I got to go to Spain too! That was a dream come true. While in Spain I met my current husband who is still my best friend and makes me laugh daily. We have 2 sons who are just as lighthearted and crazy as their father.
After I retired I got a job managing a book store in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was fun for a while. But soon, it became too much like work and I hate work! So I began to pursue one of my hobbies seriously and sold a knitting pattern in very short order. After that I quit with the retail and began designing full time. Well, partly full time.

idn't get out much, as I was in charge of keeping all the fences up and the animals in and safe. When I wasn't doing outdoor chores, I worked on my designs for "Emma's Daughter Designs" and marketing my patterns.
Early in 2008 we sold all the livestock, the farm and land and moved to central New York state. It is gorgeous here and even has trees!
I married a nomad! In December, 2016, we contracted on a B&B in San Jacinto, Manabi', Ecuador. Will be taking over the operation in June of 2017. Looking forward to this new adventure!
It is now 2018 and we are living in Cumbaya', Quito, Ecuador. The city is a fushion of Sonoma and San Francisco. I love it!
My husband's health forced us to move back to the states. We are now holed up near Albany, NY; close to family. I miss Ecuador.
That's it. I am done moving around unless it is for a road trip.
Bought the coolest house in the state, maybe even the entire U.S. It is an octagon that was built in 1852. I love it. The house had an article written about in in the October 2020 Brownstoner magazine (online). Such a wonderful house with comforting, welcoming energy. Really want to show this place off!
