Beverly's Story
Life
I graduated from UE in 1993 with a degree in Music Education. I own my own teaching studio where I teach from Bach to Rock both piano/synthesizer keyboards and voice...using the latest in technology. My husband and I play in a new band with two other musicians...we play for fun and a little cash.. I have 3 grandsons ages 14,13 and 10 months as of Dec. 2007.
Still live in Evansville. Substitute taught in the school system and was close to getting r a permanent position as a Music teacher when I was hit by a drunk driver. Many life changes

On September 15, 2009 at 3:30 PM I was s...Expand for more
truck by a drunk driver, Ben Dozier, whose alcohol level was .23 and driving after losing his license a month earlier for drunk driving. He broke my neck, 4 fractures at C2, the same place as Christopher Reeves but since I was in front of a fire station on Washington Avenue they had a neck brace on me before I moved or I would have died or wished I had. After an extensive hospital and in patient rehab stay and out patient rehab I was able to walk without aid around September 2011. I now swim an hour at least 4 days a week which helps a lot. No longer play in a band. Not sure I can sit a stool for 4 -5 hours.Will add to this story later.
