Beverly's Story
Married to Jim Street from March 1964 until April 1981. Together we had two beautiful daughters, Michelle and Lisa. Both girls are married and have blessed me with 3 grandchildren. Michelle's son Shawn my eldest grandson has been married to Alisha for 3 years. I keep asking when they are going to make me a great-grandmother. Lisa's son Josh is 17 and will be a senior this year. Her daughter Lizzie will be in 7th grade. I have 1 stepdaughter (Jennifer) who has a son Zachary 9 and a daughter Isabelle 13. My stepson passed away in March 2010 and he left behind a son Ryan who will be 18 in September and a daughter Lauren 13.
I worked several different types of jobs from 1966 until 1980 when I started my medical career as an L.P.N. I did hands on nursing for 5 years, 5 years of utilization management and 17 years as a certified coding specialist. My primary responsibility was to review and assign diagnosis and procedure codes on outpatient surgery records. At the request of my hubby I retired December 2007.
In 2006 I finally met Murel (my Prince Charming) or should I say Sonny as he prefers to be called. We were engaged on January 5, 2007 and married May 5, 2007. We resided in Oxford, Michigan until 2012. We then moved to The Villages...Expand for more
Florida. We had been snowbirds for 3 years prior to our move. We love living here! This is the largest golf retirement community in the world. There are currently over 100,000 residents and they are now expanding south toward Fruitland Park. There are many organized activities as well as clubs, concerts with recording artist we grew up listening to. There are 3 town squares which provide live music 365 days a year. There is plenty of room to dance at the squares and if you can line dance you will fit right in. If you don't know how to line dance there are many classes to choose from and they are free. Of course there is golfing. There are 32 executive courses and 10 Championship. The executive courses are free golfing but if you drive a cart there is an annual cart path fee. Speaking of cart paths, if you do have a golf cart (which there are more carts than cars here) you can travel by cart to any golf course, recreation center, restaurant, many shopping centers, 2 bowling establishments, 3 movie theaters, many medical centers including the VA and The Villages Regional Hospital. So unless you need to leave The Villages you don't need a car. As I said, there is much to do and we are busy doing it while we are healthy enough to do it.
