After high school, I attended USF majoring in Math Education because I was always good a math and thought I wanted to teach high school. Married Jeff Griffin (Robinson High) in 1982. Then, did my internship at Chamberlain and hated it! Kids were totally rotten and their parents were even worse! Way too little money for so much aggravation! Went to work in my dad's business, Color-Crown Corp., and so did Jeff. Together, we began to run the business for my dad. Loved it! Jeff and I found that we really work well together. Our talents complemented well. Dad promised it would all be ours some day. Had two kids, Becky in 1985, and Scott in 1986. For 20 years, we worked for ...Expand for more
my dad and built the company into a lucrative business. Then, in 2002, my dad sold the business for a few million and gave us nothing. Talk about having the rug pulled out from under you! So at 42, we had to start all over. I went back to school. Jeff stayed at the company working for the new owner. After a semester majoring in Engineering, I had to take a Geology class, which I found infinitely more interesting than Engineering. So, I finally found out what I wanted to be when I grow up... a geologist! Presently working on my master's thesis. Kids grew up well and Jeff and I are very happy. We are looking forward to our 25th anniversary in May 2007. My best advice: Marry your best friend!
