Beverly's Story
After graduation, I worked for the Social Security Administration for a year and a half before going to The University of Kansas. I met my husband at the end of our freshman year and got married the beginning of our senior year. We both graduated from the School of Business and then stayed in Lawrence another year while he got his master's degree.
I was a stay-at-home Mom for the years we lived in Kansas City, but did return to K.U. to work on an MBA degree, and kept the accounting records for a pharmacy near our home. After moving to Parsons, Kansas, I attended Pittsburg State and received an M.S. d...Expand for more
egree and an ED.S degree. My husband Charlie and I were both administrators at Labette Community College until we retired.
As soon as we retired, we downsized big time and moved to Florida. We enjoy all the amenities Florida has to offer: great beaches, golfing, dancing, theater, dining out, etc. The weather is great year round.
My mother (91 years old) lives across the street from us. My sister Jan (class of 1965) moved down two years ago and my sister Mary Ann (class of 1967) died of pancreatic cancer in December 2009.
We have been married 45 years and have two children and two grandchildren.
