Beverly's Story
Most people might remember that I gave one of the graduation speeches. I was voted the girl "most likely to succeed" (that must have jinxed me for a while!) There's a photo of me and James Myers in the '67 yearbook under that heading. I was very shy when we were in school, but I'm not anymore!
My oldest friend is Grace Johnson (Madison) who I met in fifth grade at Prescott. She came up from her home in Los Angeles to visit me for my birthday in October and we are still in regular contact after all these years.
I've lived in the bay area my whole life, never wanted to live anywhere else. My family is here - My mom, my three children, two granddaughters and lots of other family that I'm close to.
I'm not married anymore, but I was for a long..long...long..time. No regrets really, and learned a lot.
I'm still working, as a paralegal in the law department of a biopharmaceutical co...Expand for more
mpany. I really love what I do, but I look forward to being able to retire (someday). I take classes at Contra Costa college and enjoy the academic challenges.
I like to play cards, scrabble, dominoes and other games; go to the horse races and casinos. I've traveled, but not too much - New York City a couple of times, Baltimore, Minneapolis/ St. Paul, Atlanta, Mexico, and of course - Vegas..who hasn't?
I like (but don't love) the Oakland Raiders, and I watch football on tv only when my family has a pool going.
I have recently developed an obsession with furniture and art from the 1950's and I now have got to wean myself from e-bay.
I'm a CNN and MSNBC junkie and since the presidential election last year I haven't been able to shake my Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow habit.
Very interested in current US and World events..the environment, health care, children's needs, etc.
