Beverly's Story
I am a native Floridian, born in Plant City and lived most of my childhood in Lakeland. I moved to St. Petersburg FL after I graduated from FSU and have stayed in Pinellas County since then. In 2012, I married again after being divorced for 27 years. I have 2 grown daughters in the area and 2 granddaughters.
College was my introduction to the real world to some extent. After having a fairly sheltered childhood I attended Polk Community and for the most part had a positive experience there. I went to Florida State my last 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed the time there. I started coming out of my shell, partied a little too much, but I did not neglect my school responsibilities. I loved my experience there at FSU and enjoy going back for visits.

ate in Developmental Services initially. After a couple of years I transferred to children's services, working in foster home licensing, adoptions, foster care, child abuse investigator. In 1990, I started working with Juvenile Delinquents. I retired in April 2004 after 30 years with the state. Wow, was that a great feeling! My 2nd retirement was after working 9 years at an antiques & estate liquidations auction....no social work or social services again. I retired April 30, 2014 from the auction, but a year later went back to help out and work one day a week.
My husband also retired on April 30, 2014 from his 30 plus years working for Pinellas county. We don't have a problem keeping busy. We do enjoy traveling and cruising. We also enjoy swing dancing and spending time with family and friends.
