Beverly's Story
7After graduation I moved to
Washington DC and worked for the FBI for almost 2 years before getting married. My husband, Ron, was then in the Air Force. We first moved to California for 10 months and then to Texas for 6 months. In November of '67 Ron went to Tokyo, Japan, I followed in January. We lived in Tokyo for 2 years and had our first daughter in November of '68. We returned to the States in January of '70. We moved to Laurel, Maryland on our return. While there we had our second daughter. We lived in Maryland until '73 when we moved to North Carolina and had our son in '73.
In '79 we moved to New Jersey where we stayed for 18 years. My husband was a minister and I worked at the local elementary school as a school bus driver. I did that for 8 years then became the Transportation Secretary for 3 years and then the Transport...Expand for more
ation Supervisor for my last 8 years there. In January of '98 we moved back to North Carolina where my husband pastored another church. We were there for 10 years and then we both just kind of retired. I am at home now taking care of my mother who had a massive stoke 2 years ago.
In '99 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through surgery and chemo. I am now 10 years cancer free.
We have 9 grandchildren. Our oldest daughter lives in Richmond, Va. and has a daughter and son. Her husband is a police officer. Our middle daughter has a daughter and 2 sons and lives in California where her husband has something to do with computer technology. Our youngest son lives in Richmond, Va. also and has 2 daughters and 2 sons. Our son is youth pastor.
That is my life in a nutshell. Getting older and wanting to hear from old friends.
