Beverly's Story
Hello everyone,
I'm a little more outgoing than when I was at McLane.
During high school I worked at Penneys'. In 1976 I went to work for a bank, was there for four years and then went to work for Guarantee Savings. I was there for 10 years. I left that to become a California State Correctional Officer. Yes, that's what I said. I worked in a men's prison, boy do I have some stories from there. Long and short I hated the job, I worked at Soledad and transferred to Corcoran, still hated it. The only job I ever quit. Whew! By then I had met my husband. I was out of work for a couple of months and then I got a new job at FiServ (a data processing company). I was there for about seven years. They were going to move our office to Portland, Ore and we were NOT! going. Fortunately, I knew this about a year before it happened. It was then that I decided to do nails. I was able to work part-time there until we closed the office and I went to work in a salon and started building my clientele. I have never regretted that move. In 2000 we copnverted our third garage into a salon so I could work from home. I LOVE IT. However, as happens over time with the economy I am not working as much as I want to.
Sooooo, if anyone would like to catch up while I'm doing your nails. Just let me know. It could be a lot of FUN!.
I am also taking a course at home to learn Medical Transcription. It's a slow process.

- Nov. 2007 I worked on a part-time basis for Google. Yes, I shared a car with my brother-in-law and we took turns driving different days of the week. They were twelve hour days so although all we did was drive the days were long and we were ready to switch back after three or four days of driving. The car had a camera attached to it about 3 1/2 feet above the roof. It was connected to a LOT of equipment. Between the two of us we drove and taped every street and country road from Modesto to Tulare and the Pacific Ocean to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. Very interesting job. As some of you probably know it is Google's Street View.
As I stated in my timeline I married in Sept 1991 and became an instant Mom to 11 year old Jason and 8 year old Stephanie. Then in May 1993 our daughter Shelby was born. She was MY DREAM come true. She is now 15, a sophomore at Clovis West and in Colorguard. She is extremely busy and so are we.
Unfortunately, as all parents of teenagers know, the Aliens have picked her up and I hope to see my true daughter soon. Our son, Jason is a free spirit living up by Eureka and our daughter, Stephanie is teaching 1st grade and living with her husband in San Jose. No grandchildren yet. Stephanie and Jared will probably start a family in the next few years. They love to travel so they haven't been a hurry. And Shelby better wait a few more years.
We enjoy spending time with friends and family.
