Bill's Story
Hi everyone I hope everyone is doing well. I am doing well and enjoying life. When I left NNHS I spent two years at Canton ATC. I then spent five years with the New York Dept. of Corrections at Dennamora. In 1982 I moved to Gwinnett County Ga. a suburbs of Atlanta and took a job with the Gwinnett County Police Dept. In 1982 my academy brought the department up to 120 officers. We are now 750 offcers the county also has 500 person Sheriffs department and eleven smaller city departments. The county is now the second largest county in the state with over 800,000 people in 400 square miles. I made my way up the ranks to Lieutenant and since 1996 I have been in the training division. ened it up in 2007. I will have twentynine years with the county and have enough time to bidge one year to make my 30 years and am thinking about retiring in December 2011.
In 1980 I came to Gwinnett to visit my old college roommate who was working for the police department. I met my wife and we had a two year long distance love affair and I moved here. We have been married for 16 years Miss Charlotte and I did not want to rush into anything. Miss Charlotte is from Missiissippi and her and her sister run the family timber bussiness that their dad left them. They still maintaine their family home in Mississippi. We have no chilldren except for the four legged kind that run our lives. When I retire I plan on spending more time up north and hope to see everyone.
