More about Bill:"I help people buy and sell homes, but my passion is helping non-profit organizations realize their potential. I was brought up to "Think Good Thoughts" I'm able to make a lot of good things happen because of that. Not sure how it works, but it does! I've done alot of different fun stuff and I'm probably not done yet. I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, where I originally developed my love for real estate. My dad had a bunch of old apartment buildings on the near north side that we re-habbed. Went to University of Denver Hotel & Restauarant Management school, because I wanted to be a golf pro and run a country club. I also didn't want to be drafted. Turns out I fell in love with the food side of the business especially the logi...Expand for more
stics of catering big events. After I graduated with a business degree, I worked for hotel companies in the food & beverage areas for about 10 years, then opened a bunch of my own small restaurants. Got involved in Littleton stuff, Town Hall, Western Welcome Week, Hudson Gardens, and with the hotel background started doing special events like festivals, concerts, shows, and even a circus. All the while we were buying real estate doing fix & flips, or rentals, and thinking in the back of my mind, I still want to be a golf pro, so I got a job as a starter at a club and played golf every day. Found I just didn't have the ability any more to shoot low enough to get my PGA card. But the real estate part really took off, so I found myself opening a real estate office that has done pretty well. I got involved with Project Safeguard about 4 years ago because my wife Sherry was president of the board. Their special event planner left unexpectedly just before their big fund raising event, The Valentine's Fling. Sherry explained to me that I would step in and get them through it. I'm still at it 4 years later, as well as doing part time community relations. However, the more I studied about their cause, domestic violence, the more I realized that this may be the biggest issue this country has ever faced. One out of three womem in the United Sates will be victims in their lifetime!!??? That's just crazy. In 2008 PSG provided 24,000 services for victims in the Denver Metro area, that's up from the 18,000 average the previous 5 years. So my community relations work is really paying off-we're helping more victims. So why does that make me so sad?".
