Bill's Story

Taking good care of one's family and preserving the political autonomy of one's tribe is an important part of the OTTAWA tradition. I enjoy a busy lifestyle raising 7 children and exercising tribal commercial fishing rights on Lake Michigan around Leelanau County. o my ancestral homelands and fits very well with my hunter gatherer mind frame. I find a sense of accomplishment by providing 2 jobs and much venison for other tribal members. "Living by the season" is a thing of the past but not for me. The best word to describe me in the command of my fish boats is "Adept".
