Bill's Story
Like many of us, I Went to Azalea Gardens Junior High before moving on to Lake Taylor High School. Connected with some GREAT people, but I was really shy so I feel my circle of friends would have been pretty small. I would have been Class of '81, but life took a different path. I lived in DelMar Trailer Court with my Dad and Brother. I dropped-out of school September of '80 and joined the Navy to work with computers. Got my GED in Florida, my AA in Korea, my BA in Florida, my MS from ODU, and spent over 20 years in the Navy! The majority of the time was overseas in places like Portugal or Engl...Expand for more
and! Not too bad. Had 2 wonderful kids along the way but the marriage didn't work out. After retirement from the Navy, I went to work as a Defense Contractor providing IT support to the United States Air Forces in Europe Commander and NATO in Germany. After a number of years, I returned to England to again provide IT support to NATO. That work took me to Afghanistan and other "interesting" places. As I look back, I see how truly fortunate I have been. I do miss the old days on occasion though. Funny how nostalgic I feel about the 70s and 80s now and then. I suspect I'm not alone in that regard.
