Bill's Story
After high school, I went from job-to-job, not staying in one very long. Went to Wiliams Lake, in 1976 and lived there, mostly, until 2008; in the late-'80s I fought forest-fires in the region. During that time, I also lived up Hwy 16, near Telkwa, and Kamloops, to go to school, in the '90s, where I got a Marketing-Management diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
The degree turned out to be a bad move as I, pretty-much, priced myself out of the job-market. I did have 2 pretty good jobs: one as the Financial Officer for Forest Renewal BC, in Wms. Lake (for 6 mo., then they drastically downsized the corp.; they new it was coming and that's why I got the job, i.e. to fill a chair); and as Band Manager for High Bar First Nation, in Clinton, BC (which lasted just under one year; all I can say is "good luck to them"). Anyway, back to Greater Vanc...Expand for more
ouver, in 2008, to look for a job.
Great stress. Breakdown/Depression; psychiatrist prescribed pills; I didn't want to get into 'that', so, opted for medical-marijuana; doctor said he had "no problem with that". Person with Disability, with the Province of BC, and early-retirement. Now on OAS and CPP. Feels like I've been freed, after getting out of the grip of BC's system. Things are better.
Living, in Haney, now, with Judy Pepper. She used to be Judy Sedore, and married my good friend, from St. Mary's, Dan Pepper. He passed on in 1990. Didn't have any kids of my own, so, I inherited a family.
Started reunions in 2009. Handed the job over to other people in 2017. They cancelled 2018, so I put out the call to have an informal one at Collingwood Park.
btw... somehow I got 2 Classmates accounts and can't cancel the other one... this is the one I use.
