Bill's Story
Life
My life has been full of adventure and at times pretty wild. I have been married twice and I'm heading towards my third. I have three children who I love dearly and miss ever so much now that I am in China.
I was a millionaire by the time I was thirty and broke at thirty three but at least I discovered that it is not money that makes me happy.
I did some acting and commercials nothing big or fancy but enough to decide it was not what I was looking for in a career. If you happen to be watching Kenny Rodgers' "The Gambler" look close at the scene in the train depot at the beginning of the movie. Later on in the "Big" game the closeups on Kenny's hands are mine.
My passion is people and number one on the list is Wei Wei who I met accidently by transpoing numbers on an email.
Next comes my children and then people who play roller hockey. My children sucked me in when they started selling Rollerblades some 15 years ago. Since then I have coached for 12 years, conducted training camps, taught over 800 children and adults how to skate, played on a team representing USA at an international tournament in Wales, and have found some fools to play in Shanhai.
I write poetry when the mood hits me and I have had several published and won a couple of awards but I still think there is a lot of room for improvement.
My 22 year-old daughter Ayrabeth is studing film production at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. My dream is to write a screen play for her to produce some day.
My 32 year-old son Chris is married and has a 5 year old daughter who sings, dances, skates, skateboards, snowboards and is pretty as a picture.
My 20 year-old son Jonathan plays hockey and attends college in San Diego while working a part-time job at Abercombe & Fitch. He is a much better hockey player than I on both wheels and ice. He has won the fastest slap shot competition at two national tournaments but I can brag about being his coach.
I guess you could say I am a fitness freak. I eat healthy and exercise everyday, somedays with weights and others with skates. I am in very good shape and plan to stay that way.
