Bill's Story
Greetings!
Here's hoping you're happy and healthy. As most of you know, after I left Indy, I went to school at Utah State University ... spending my summers as a smokejumper fighting forest fries in most of the eleven western states and Alaska. After finishing my undergrad in Forestry/wildlife and a masters in civil engineering, I ended up as Regional Dams & Hydraulics Engineer for the US Forest Service in Ogden, Utah. And I'm still doing that ... except now I'm National Dams Engineer (commuting to Washington DC twice a month ... moving at this stage of my life wasn't something I fancied). Now, if my backside doesn't wear out in a Delta 757 seat, I'll be okay. But ... living in DC? No thanks! Interests when I find a few ...Expand for more
minutes to myself? I still love cars ('57 356, '56 Bel Air, and '86 328GTB) ... it's a illness I caught in Indy, if ya know what I mean...and I ski as often as possible. My wife, Liana. and I visit our two sons (Bill {Park City, Utah} & McKinley {Seattle}) and the three grandkids when the mood hits (if ya know what I mean, again). We spend as much time as possible in Italy where I'm a consultant on the Arno River Restoration Project ... this will be my retirement gig when the right time comes. And I'm still writing, with one novel (The Flame Game; on Amazon), and working on a long overdue second piece set in Indy in '64. Time is fleeting, eh? I cherish our shared years. Thanks for being a grand part of my life! Ciao! bill
