Bill's Story

I never thought I'd actually do this, but it seems to be a reasonable investment of time while I'm waiting for my next flight. After FHS, I graduated from Lamar with a BS in Chemistry. I flirted around with graduate school at the University of Houston and Lamar. The unexpected death of my father in 1986 refocused my aim. I got a job, got a car, got a wife, got a house, got a child, got my current job, got another child, built a house in Lumberton, yuk, and moved to Port Neches, yeah! My wife of 19 years, Suzann, is from Winnie. BBA from Lamar, about seven teaching certificates. She stayed at home to raise our kids before going back to teaching. I'm still somewhat difficult to get along with, but am much better than in high school. My daughter, Morgan, is 15 and learning to drive, yikes! She's a fish at PN-G HS, in the band (French horn, obviously), AP curriculum, honor roll, and now debate team. My son, Wil is 14. He is a high-functioning autistic who for the past 2 years has been going to school and living in Huntsville, sob...Expand for more
! He's doing very well despite the near irreparable damage done to him in Lumberton. They really have some serious issues there. They preferred to use taxpayers' money to fight us with lawyers than to provide him with an appropriate education.. That's why we left. When we got to PN-G, we found that we weren't the first to leave. I get sick every time I hear LISD administrators claim that their schools are "elite". Anyway, about myself. I've been working for Agilent Technologies, formerly Hewlet-Packard, for the last 15 years. I am a Field Support Scientist. I install and train customers how to use our research instrumentation, mostly in the fields of Proteomics, Metabalomics, Genomics, and Gene Expression. I'd like to think that I'm finally doing some good in the world. Unforunately, it requires a lot of travel. The trips to Europe are cool, but Wisconsin is too cold in the Winter. I can't forget about the dogs. We have a Beagle, Bootsie, and a Miniature Dachsund, Klaus. I'm about ready to board, so I'll sign off for now.
