Carol's Story
Carol and I have had a whirlwind year in 2009. We started by retiring in January, but Carol fell and broke 2 ribs on the way to her retirement luncheon! During her recovery, we went to England to visit our nephew who lives and works in Yorkshire.
We became grandparents in April, with Dustin Scott Wright's birth in Kalamazoo. His parents have gained an entirely new perspective on life - and what's really important.
Meanwhile, once she got the broken rib thing under control, Carol was lured back to teach classes for her former employer. (Those of you who know who that is, well, you know...) She's been on the road a lot since May, and I've gotten to j...Expand for more
oin her on some trips. We'll be out West for a while between now and the reunion.
Dustin "gained an uncle" in July when Aunt Sarah married Uncle Sandip right here in Bay City. It was the biggest combined gathering to date of the Wright and Gregory clans.
Three weeks later, my Dad suffered a heart attack and died on Aug 18. Responses to that event have reminded us how many lives he was able to touch over the years. He's left an admirable legacy of goodwill in this town. As a pediatrician, he has pulled a lot of people through some very scary challenges. Their thankfulness for his dedication and wisdom is evident in the many messages we've received.
