Nancy's Story
After high school, I bounced around a few colleges before earning a teaching degree in 1976. I have been teaching in the El Monte City School District for 33 years. On June 18th,2009, Norwood School closed its doors. I had taught kindergarten there for 25 years and my heart is so sad. I moved to Gidley School and taught a k/1 for one year before retiring in June 2010.

32 years. Bill retired the year before me and we have enjoyed working on our house, traveling, and training (trying to anyway) our black lab, Trooper.
We have two children, Peter is a staff sgt. in the Army.
Lindsay is 27, married, lives nearby and works as a respiratory therapist..
Having worked in El Monte, I have seen the many changes in the area and schools. I have many fond memories of my years at Arroyo.
