Bill's Story

Hard to believe that it has almost been 40 years from the great days at Nitro High School. The kid known as "Buffalo Bill" has done a lot of changing and growing up since those days. Can you believe that this "Buffalo" is still to this day less than 150 pounds! Like so many of you, I spent quite a bit of my high school days trying to find who I was and doing things that are totally out of my true character. But through the love and grace of our Lord and Savior, I have finally become comfortable with who I am. Never thought I could be blasted out of West Virginia, but Union Carbide transferred me to Connecticut and then when Dow bought Union Carbide, my wife of now 22 years wanted to move close to her home. Therefore, me, my wife, Marci and three children reside outside of Durham NC in a little town called Bahama. We have three kids, Grace, Owen and Brian. We are proud of all three. Grace is in her second year at Wake Tech Community College studying exercise science which she will transfer to ECU after this year. She is a two sport athlete at Wake Tech, playing both volleyball and soccer. Who would have ever thought, I would have a child that plays...Expand for more
athletics in college. Didn't know I had those genes. Owen, is at Durham Technical Community College where he is taking classes to transfer to Appalachian State. He played basketball in high school and is now coaching a local team. Brain is our youngest and a junior in high school. He is my baseball player and many of you might remember how I love baseball and those Reds. For his local high school team he plays all over the infield, and bats leadoff for a team that has won the state championship in NC for the last two seasons. He wants to play in college and if he stays healthy, he will.. As for me, I have done a lot of things but currently have set up and run my own CPA firm here in Bahama, NC. My wife spends her days assisting me and working with the kids. While we are very happy here in NC I would say that West Virginia is still truly home to me. Would probably be interested in the next reunion even though I have never come to one before. Mainly because since my parents passed years ago, we really didn't have an option in where to leave the kids for the evening. With them being older now, that is not an issue. Best to all who reads this. Bill
