Has 30 years of experience in journalism and public relations. Worked for daily newspapers in Oklahoma and Texas, including The Dallas Morning News, as a reporter and editor, and for Mutual of Omaha insurance company as a corporate communications specialist. , U.S. Navy Reserve. Research interests are in the Web as a news and information source, media law, military-media relationships and newsroom management. A marathon runner -- Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, Dallas White Rock Marathon, Tulsa Route 66 Marathon, Little Rock Marathon. Named a Fulbright teaching scholar in 1996. Holds a juris doctor (J.D.) degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law, a master of liberal arts (M.L.A.) degree from Texas Christian University, and a bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree in journalism from Oklahoma Baptist University.
