Billy's Story
After a short stint in the workforce, I joined the Navy in Aug 1956. On July 10 1958 Judi and I were married and began to build our family. With 2 girls and 2 boys, I continued to advance through the pay grades I achieved Master Chief Petty Officer. Then on July 10 1978 I retired from the Navy giving me 22 years of service. During my career I had 2 tours in Vietnam.
After retiring I ran a machine shop in Redding CA. I worked there for 4 years and decided to make my Mom happy and go to college. I graduated from Chico State University with ...Expand for more
a Industrial Science Degree in 1982. I went on in the teaching credential program.
All of our kids live in the Redding area and now we have 7 grand children and two great grand daughters.
I lost Judi in September of 2019. We had 61 wonderful years together. Four months later I lost my oldest daughter. I could no longer stand to live alone in the house that Judi and I loved so I am living in the CalVet Veterans Home in Redding, CA. I am blessed to have the rest of my family living within 20 miles of my new home and we get together often.
