Billy's Story
Life
I enlisted in the Air Force in the early 70's. After I got out, I traveled for several years finding a new job, new girlfriend, new city and state about every 6 months. During this time I did everything from retail management, to construction. I enjoyed my travels and it seemed to satisfy my need for adventure.
I settled down in Texarkana, Texas where I owned and managed a car lot. At the age of 30, I finally found my soul mate and got married. My wife Tanya and our son Todd from my wife's first marriage moved to Dallas where we currently live. I have worked in Corporate America (Mortgage Banking/Real Estate Tax) ever since.
My son is 32, a Major in the Army and graduated from West Point Military Academy, Class of 1999. He married a beautiful young lady (Texas A&M Grad). Their wedding was held in New Orleans in the Garden District. It was a military style wedding complete with sabers dr...Expand for more
awn forming an archway. My daughter-in-law and her family arranged the wedding, reception etc. so that the St. Charles street cars could be used to transport the wedding guest to all of the events. It was a wedding to be remembered.
Todd will be back in the states by Mid-February 2009, after serving as a company commander in Iraq for the past year serving his second tour.
My claim to fame is having a wonderful wife who is willing to put up with me and a son that has made me very proud of everything he has done and continues to do. I have grandkids on order, but I'm told, I will have to just "hold that thought" for a few more years.
When I think of all the places that I've lived, I still and will always think of Cabot as my hometown.
