Thankfully, I graduated in 1960 and after working during the summer at Jackson Lake in Jackson, Georgia (where I had an opportunity to experience the real country life) I went to The University of Alabama where I played in the "Million Dollar Band", the "Cavaliers" dance band, the Birmingham Symphony, and the Southeastern Composers Forum. From there I went to work at WSFA-TV in Montgomery and then on to WAGA-TV in Atlanta. I worked some with CBS Sports and was the first Directors Assistant for the Falcons Football halftime show for a year. Later, I joined Delta Air Lines in Atlanta and worked in Reservations, Marketing, Customer Relations as a rep, Passenger and Customer Services, Operations, Data Communications(where I had the opportunity to work on a travelling data team that helped develop electronic seat selection), and Communications Maintenance.
