Debra's Story
Life
Pat and I have been married 44 hyears. We have lived in many places and countries due to his career in the military and with his job with General Dynamics.
One thing about us is Pat and I open our hearts and home to kids. I had the nickname of Mother Goose when we were in the military. Everywhere I went, I seemed to have extra kids with us. Our house was always a meeting place for the kids to hang out at and have fun. Guess I learned that from my parents cause they did the same thing. They never said no to kids at our house and neither do we.
We have opened our home to various friends of our girls who had no where to go, or were headed dow...Expand for more
n a dangerous path and Pat and I thought we might help them. One moved from Calif to Ky with us and stayed several months. Another moved in for over a year. One moved in for a while and has stayed with us and become our third daughter. It's a wonderful thing to have so many kids call us Mom and Dad. It really makes you feel like you did something worthwhile.
We have five grandchildren and they are all perfect. (No proud Nana there). My world is filled up with the youngest three. The others live in Mississippi
My husband, Patrick, retired in Sept 2016. He was driving me nuts after a week. I don’t know how people deal with stay at home spouses.
