Barbara's Story
Just turned "50", doesn't seem possible, where did the time go? Happily married for 27 years, together for 31 with 4 kids. My girls are 26 and 23, my boys are 18 and 14. We have 4 beautiful grandkids, three in California (4, 2 & 10 months) and the youngest (4 months) in Texas. I've lived in the same place for 23 years. Growing up we moved alot and I hated it. My kids of course would have loved to move around.
I went to work after high school; cashier, bookkeeper, and 17 years doing day care (it was fun). I also took care of my grandmother (as she always took care of me), she lived with us for 8 years. She died in 2003, she was 100 years and 17 days old. She was a special lady and I miss her.
Now I work full time in Septic Sales/Dispatch for a local ...Expand for more
concrete company and run the last of my 4 kids around. We've been involved in the FFA/4H for the last 10 years. The kids raise and show lambs, pigs and chickens. We just finished with the Stanislaus Co. Fair. My son had the FFA Champion AOB pig and a 1st place lamb. Four more years to go.
I've been hunting for bear, fox, bob cat, lion and coon. Helps that my husband is/was a hunting addict, (he ran hounds) and licensed guide for the past 30 years. He "retired" 3 years ago. We went from 8 dogs to 3. Now we camp, luv the beach and mountains, hang out with friends and work of course. Actual retirement is a fantasy. Also expect to make many trips to Texas to see our daughter and newest grandson. Been to Mexico several times, want to go to Hawaii.
