Francine's Story
Life
Hello, fellow Panthers of Santa Rosa High, 1968. We've all come a long way.
After graduating from UC Davis in 1972, I have been in retailing, business, tax preparation, office management and now am the business advocate adn communications director for the Chamber of Commerce. My most important job, however, has been as the mom to our two kids. Kevin, 25, is a student at St. Louis Medical School and is in the Air Force while Corinne, 22 is working here in Fresno. We've been married for 30 years and enjoy living in Clovis, CA which is right next door to Fresno.

Workplace
It took me 40+ years but I finally am working in my dream job where I am being paid to do what I love.

I advocate for our business members by running the Legislative Issues, Public Policy and PAC committees. This means I am actively involved in state and local politics with candidates and statewide associations such as the California Chamber of Commerce.
My other major responsibility is being the "Voice of the Chamber" by writing the monthly newsletter that is inserted in 30,000 newspapers, updating the Web Site and being the Chamber representative on local and state radio, television and print media.
Everyday is a new adventure and tests my abilities. The job is satisfying when I know I have assisted a local business to succeed, made our members aware of new laws or when I see the smiles on the little faces when Santa Claus waves at them during our parade.
I remind my kids constantly that sometimes it takes 40+ years to find your passion and to never give up. So far, they're heeding my advice.
