Bob's Story
Hellos to all the sc alumni who remember the mud tug of wars, the toilet on the grounds of the old school building, the sit ins at the old sc library, someone stumbling out of a car that may have been owned by a low and slow rider. The pedal to the medal drag races down market st. Sitting in the stands of war memorial watching the greatest swimmers yet to be discovered. Enjoying the open campus and no dress code, the casual walk down to the old wood, metal and electronic shops, (yea to Bob, Mr. Lara and the coach.) I saw the paddle in Mr. Bordenave's office, but never got to feel it's effects. It was always an understanding with no wiggle room. The office staff was as much apart of you as your closest friends, hitchhiking home along market st.-- thanks Anna! and the jam--packed station wagon of Jimmy Arosco was another good ride to Allen's...Expand for more
house. Another good hitch in the morning was coach Haine's in his station wagon--who could ever forget Spitz's pink mobile? A panel van or two scattered through out the campus, and a trip over to zeman's barn were all sure to serve as home to friends. A lot of Saint Claire alumni in the mix. (Geno,Maquiggin, Miller, Rocha,Radovich, Zeman ) Who can ever forget the sat. nights of the Saint Claire mixers--OH YA! Hanging out and listening to music in the mall's record library. If your past is part of your future, that's a good thing. Remember your friends and roots. Say your prayers and be thankful. Travel some where safe and experience the depth of poverty. It will make you grateful for what we have. Visit your parents while we still can. Spend some money on someone you love and take your kids to church on Mothers day.
Cheers,
Bob Cabral
