Bob's Story
After graduating from PN I went to CSULA and majored in AstroPhysics and later changed my major to Math. Got a job working on satellite systems and worked on the first satellite that detected the hole in the Ozone layer over Antartica, prompting restrictions in the types of refrigerants used in cooling devices (like refrigerators, A/C, etc...). Decided to try working for a commercial firm and was a part of a team that designed and built an interactive telephone answering service system with an operator in the loop - all data (messages) were stored on a computer. That company went under and I got laid off. I then went to Hughes Aircraft Company, which is now called Raytheon Technologies and am still there - this is my 40th year. Enough about career. eventually married. We had no kids but plenty of dogs and cats. I have throttled back my work hours significantly so I have more time to spend with my wife. I have been teaching a Senior Engineering Design class out at CSULA for the last 11 years - it's great to pass my engineering knowledge onto our future engineers. I speak at MESA(Math,Engineering,Science and Astronomy) events occasionally. I also judge at science fairs at the High School, County, State, International and college levels. The High School where I judge at is the Ribet Academy which was PN converted into a K-12 international school. Would you believe that the library is pretty much the same as when we went there over a half a century ago!! By the way I still live in Eagle Rock, (L. A., CA). Great sharing my life after PN with you...
