Bob's Story
Hi to all in the class of '61.
The morning after graduation from RDHS my entire family flew to the San Francisco Bay Area in California, so by late dinnertime I was on the streets of UC Berkeley where I started college there a few days later, getting all three degrees there in Physics (AB, MA, and Ph.D.) The Ph. uberty Rite, attending the multicultural Bar Mitzvah of a Santa Clara Pueblo Indian child, volunteer coaching the Pojoaque Elementary School Chess team and taking them to New York in 1984 where they won the National Elementary School Team Championship. My son, Andy Fisher, subsequently won the 9th grade and under Individual National Chess Championship as an 8th grader, and won the the 12th grade and under National Individual Chess Championship as a 10th grader.
My spare time is divided between chasing my girlfriend around (boy, can she run fast!) and being deeply involved in Bluegrass music: Private teaching mandolin and guitar, giving workshops at bluegrass festivals, performing, recording duets with friends, training under masters, and, now for the second straight year in a row, providing a daily workshop at the Steve Kaufman Bluegrass Kamp in Maryville, Tennessee.
