Bob's Story
Life
I retired from teaching theatre after 29 years, 12 at RGHS and 17 at Hazelwood West, and worked steadily doing freelance theatre work (directing, designing, and working as a technician) and playing music around St. Louis the first 2 years I retired. I was named the Mo. Thespian Teacher of the year, and inducted into the MO Thespian Hall of Fame. I was the Master Carpenter/Shop Foreman for the Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park for 2 summers and have worked at the Edison Theater, St. Louis Shakespeare, Act Inc, and Stages St. Louis. I directed ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST in 2001, with John Ayers (76) reprising his RGHS role as Chief Bromden.

o the Educational Theatre Association Hall of Fame in 2019, and my wife Marti was elected in 2020. She was a theatre teacher and administrator at Hazelwood East and the Ad Building.
My wife Marti and I produced a technical theater dvd/streaming series that is in use in over 2,800 schools worldwide. We travelled all over the US and Canada promoting the programs (10) and doing workshops from 2003 until 2019. Met a lot of fantastic teachers and students! We sold the programs in 2019, and are truly retired now.
Still playing music, old R&B, Classic Rock, and Blues, both as a front man and a bassist. Been doing that for 60 years this year.
