Bob's Story

Okay so I live in the midwest, Im a VP at an aerospace company and I love my job. I always wanted to be an Engineer when I grew up. My family and friends thought I would be a dope fiend. As it turns out, they were WRONG, I'm an engineer.T he biggest surprise in the way life turned out is that I am living in the midwest. For a California boy, this is outrageous! But it's a good place to live and raise kids so we wouldnt move back. I would really like to run into Ms. Paula Murphy who was my 9th grade English teacher. She was the first "Ms." I ever knew. I liked her a lot and especially liked when we studied Romeo and Juliet. Now the story wizard is asking what happened to my fisrt crush. Not gonna tell. Only she knows and she aint talking either. My one do-over would be the summer of 9th grade... Okay actually two things. 1) I would have said something when I rode my bike to Heim Elementary school. and 2)Those plants in Bills backyard were the best ever, but holy cow it took...Expand for more
me years to get out of that fog... The Grateful Dead sang long strange trip... It has really been a long strange trip for me. Rough childhood, strange teen / tweens, then a slow march towards growing up. Now Im a grown up and can light fireworks all by myself, and the things I value most now were things I never wanted then. Maybe I'm living in Bizzaro world... The midwest is a lot like that you know. Life is slow here, but it still goes by as fast and faster than ever. Life is easy here, but the weather is hard. And now Im old and my kids are young and getting old. I guess there are a few things I would change in my past, but if they changed the outcome, I guess I would probably pass. There's a dignity in the struggle of growing up that is valuable, even though I would avoid the struggles if I could... Well that's all I have for now. If I ever pissed you off, sorry, that's all I can do about it now, and if I ever stole your shoes, they didnt fit I did it just to be mean :-)
